Ensure that all plates are removed from the reader and all liquids from injectors.
If your instrument has been exposed to patient sera, positive samples, or any other biohazard material, consult the decontamination instructions in your manual.
To lock the plate carrier in the instrument, turn your reader on and either close the software or hold the in/out button for over three seconds, then switch off the main power. Securely tighten the silver screw by pushing it down and turning it clockwise.
To lock the needle holder in its magnetized park position, turn off the main power, position the needle holder in its place, and then insert and tighten the red screw clockwise until secure.
Turn knurled screw down as far as it will go (picture 1). Take the silver screw on the top left of the instrument. Push the silver screw in and turn it clockwise until tightened (picture 2). The screw must be fixed tightly when locked.
Done! Your reader is ready to be shipped.
Open the lid, locate the silver screw in the middle left, and turn it counter-clockwise. Once unlocked and the instrument is on, press the in/out button to move the plate carrier out.
To unlock the needle holder in the CLARIOstar, open the lid, find the red screw on the right, turn it counter-clockwise and remove it. The needle holder can then be removed, and the screw stored in the transport lock area on the top left.
To unlock the Dual-PMT slide in the instrument, manually turn the silver screw counter-clockwise and remove it. Store the screw in the transport lock area on the top left of the instrument.
Done! Your reader is ready to be used.
